At the recent NY auto show why didn't we see either the Tesla Roadster or the Aptera?

Neither of these designs are "NEW" but there is a certain "WOW" factor that still lingers. Imagine a contributor to the show presenting a rented roadster with a sign advertising its base price. Next to it would be their modest EV at 1/3 the price. This presentation might be as effective as one of the long legged blonds and the ociation would be about the same. The same thing might be done with a clic 1908 Baker electric. Any of these options would certainly add an interest level.
