Ok I wasn't going to answer because you have gotten some excellent cake recipe choices.. but I just couldn'tresist adding some some of my favorites some are at allrecipes.com plum blueberry upside down cake is fantastic and so beautiful also old fashioned upside down pineapple cake made in a 10 inch iron skillet, my hubby's favorite German chocolate cake 111 made with ermilk & coconut-pecan frosting is awesome strawberry cake from scratch ( I make this with cream cheese frosting) At cooks.com they have from scratch tunnel of fudge cake topped off with a chocolate glaze and also spicy banana pecan cake it is wonderful dream cake is also delicious I have made all these cakes been baking & cooking for over 50 years and I like to make cakes with a little extra flair These cakes are all extraordinary and special I sometimes bake cakes in 3 layers instead of 2 and makes the presentation over the top
