Can my parents force me to undergo a mental evaluation? I'm almost 19?
I think my parents are trying to find a way for me to undergo an involuntary mental evaluation. (we live in Florida) I know there's the Baker Act but I don't know how they could get enough evidence to prove that I need an evaluation. We had family counseling when I was 17 and the counselor did recommend me being screened but I know my parents they'll use that to their advantage if something were to show up, which I know it might, if I try to do anything they don't approve of, even the smallest thing, they'll threaten me with the Baker Act and I do not want anything on my record. It's all a control thing with them and I feel so trapped. Someone please help me, I don't know what to do or how to escape this.
